Just wanted to share with you that my family and I had a great time at Boomers. Spending the day with other families who have been victims of crimes was a good feeling. See my 22-year old daughter was murdered in Feb. 2008 and she left behind her baby girl who was almost 3-years old at the time of her death, and now when we take my granddaughter to Crimesurvivor events and/or other events related to victims of crime, it’s a way we can show her that she is not the only one who has been through something horrible. She has met other people who have suffered the same fate as her, and she isn’t different. At Boomers, she enjoyed going on many of the rides with the other kids that we know from our Parents of Murdered Children support group. She was very happy the whole day and very pleased with the gift she received from Santa Claus. Also, I wanted to say how grateful I was for the food basket for our family. See, as you may know, money has been tight for many families and my husband has been out of work since Oct. 1, 2009 and the food donation was a tremendous help to us. We’ve never had to go out & accept things like this before but CrimeSurvivors didn’t make us feel uncomfortable at all. So a big THANK YOU from the Ponce Family. We truly appreciate all the hard work that was put into making this event a magical moment for families. Thanks again!
