Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Partners with Crime Survivors to Provide Resource Guide for Survivors of Violent Crimes
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in partnership with Crime Survivors is providing to all Sheriff’s Department field personnel a “Resource Guide for Survivors of Violent Crime.” The resource guide was developed by Crime Survivors’ Founder and Director, Patricia Wenskunas in conjunction with The California Victim Compensation Program. The Resource Guide will be provided to victims by Sheriff’s Deputies to assist victims in locating an advocate, crisis support, understanding victim’s rights, financial assistance resources emphasizing the goal of helping a victim in their healing and recovery. “It is my pleasure to partner with Los Angeles County Sheriff John L. Scott and Patricia Wenskunas, to develop the Resources for Survivors of Violent Crime in Los Angeles County Resource Guides,” said Julie Nauman, Executive Officer of the California Victim Compensation Program (CalVCP).
Sheriff John L. Scott stated, “These resource guides are a valuable, comprehensive resource for survivors in their time of greatest need and include vital information on how to get the additional help they need.
