2008 Award Recipient Donna Quaglierini & Pat Cahill
In October, 2007 as the fires raged in Santiago Canyon, (caused by an arsonist) Donna spent over a week working directly with the Orange County Fire Authority Chaplain dispatching volunteers to assist the Chaplains at the Shelter set up in Santiago Canyon for families displaced by fires.She also spent several afternoons herself assisting at the shelters along with going with the families back to the remains of their homes. She assisted the families as they returned to their homes or what was left of their homes to search for anything that may have survived the fires. Pat, along with Donna, made herself available day and night to be at the shelters to assist the Chaplains with the families at the shelters along with going with the families back to the remains of their homes. She played a pivotal part in assisting the OCFA Chaplains at the shelters.
